Gaiters are not worn for beauty. Warmed-up calves and ankles are less injured during jumping work, and in a cold hall muscles cool down in five minutes of standing at the machine. Therefore, the gaiters are removed last — after the warm-up, when the body has reached the operating temperature.

How to choose the length

Short ones, up to the middle of the calf, are taken on the ground floor and stretching: they do not interfere with the work of the foot and do not slide into the crease under the knee. Long ones, above the knee, are needed for warm—ups and trips - in them the body keeps warm longer. If leggings are bought first, take long ones: they can be lowered, short ones cannot be lengthened.

What to look at in the canvas

The elastic band should not leave a mark on the skin after twenty minutes. It's easy to check: put it on and sit down — if a band appears, the gaiters constrict the blood flow, and it will be felt during a long workout. A dense canvas keeps warm, but it is hot in active work, a thin one is suitable for a hall with a normal temperature.

Size

Gaiters stretch, so the size is selected by the circumference of the calf, and not by height. Children are taken for the season ahead: during the year the leg grows, and the gaiters sit down in volume and do not fall off. We sew everything ourselves in St. Petersburg - if the size does not fit, we change it within 14 days.
